Mr Peter Smith BA FCA DChA
Managing director, chartered accountant
Professional career
Peter Smith qualified in 1988 and was admitted to the ICAEW in 1989. He has worked for Chittenden Horley since 1991 and increasingly specialised in the audit of charities and other voluntary organisations. He is Managing Director of Chittenden Horley Limited.
In 2008, he was awarded the ICAEW dipolma in Charity Accounting through the experience route. Peter is the Chair of the Charity Practitioners Forum, and has been a lecturer and panellist at their annual training day.

Mr Geoffrey Horley BSc MBA FCA FCCA DChA
Director, Chartered Accountant
Professional career
Geoffrey Horley trained with a medium sized firm and in 1984 was awarded an MBA degree at Manchester Business School.
In 2000, Geoffrey completed an eighteen-month part-time diploma in Charity Management at City University Business School and obtained a distinction. He has extensive experience of capital projects for arts organisations, and has worked for both the Arts Council and directly for organisations involved in capital schemes.
In 2008, he was awarded the ICAEW dipolma in Charity Accounting through the experience route.

Mr John J Thewlis BA FFA
John Thewlis is our non-executive director and has a wide range of experience. Before joining Chittenden Horley in 1986, he was Director of Finance for North West Arts. John continues to work for our sister company (CHCA Ltd t/a Chittenden Horley) looking after a range of clients involved in the creative industries.
John is available to offer support, advice and training when required.
